The addition of thymoquinone in the in vitro kidney cell cancer (786-O human renal cancer cell line) induced elevation of reactive oxygen species inside the cancer cells. This ultimately led to the destruction of cancer cells. The study's findings allude that thymoquinone's benefits for the treatment of kidney cancer might be through multiple mechanisms (3). A group of scientists from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, USA, Seoul National University, Korea, and Universita del Piemonte Orientale, Novara, Italy, summarized the chemopreventive and anticancer benefits of thymoquinone in retrospect.
